Financial Chemotherapy LLS has been working hard removing negative items off peoples credit reports! I got new results from a credit repair client that I started working on her credit June 16, 2010 and by June 21, I had removed 2 out of 5 negative Items off Experian (the Hardest Bureau to work with)!! The procedure of disputing errors with Consumer reporting agencies is simple and is described on the FTCs web site. It is also described in the guides you can get on our web site http://www.101creditrepair.com

Here are the basic steps:

Get and review your credit report. You can use annualcreditreport.com to get a free report from each of big free credit reporting agencies once a year. I suggest to subscribe to a service from Experian.com, or Equifax.com – for a small fee you will get unlimited number or reports. It will help you to monitor your progress.

Identify records to correct / remove (I have another video about analyzing credit report, or read about it in my guide at http://www.101creditrepair.com ).

Write letter to the CRAs (Credit Reporting Agencies) asking them to make required corrections. Make copies for your file. Send via certified mail (keep the receipt).

The CRA must investigate your dispute and reply in 30 (or 45) days.

If they corrected – great.
If CRAs have verified the record as valid, then the next step will be to contact the institution which has placed the record (original lender or collection agency) as described in the next video. See also at http://www.101creditrepair.com

Note: I recommend certified mail because other methods (phone, internet, etc.) don’t provide easy and uniform way to keep track of all correspondence. But if you still prefer these other methods, you must keep the log of all the events: when did you call, who did you talk to, what did you discuss, or what have you entered in the web form, etc.

Can I use this number instead of my social security number?
No, the Credit Profile Number (CPN) does not replace your SS number, this number can only be used for credit reporting purposes. It cannot and should not be used for any government purposes including and not limited to: military, child support, DSS income, SSI, taxes, FHA, VA, or any government backed funding.

What can I use my new Credit Profile Number (CPN) for?
You can use your new Credit Profile Number (CPN) for anything that would normally require you to use your SS number for credit reporting purposes. Use it to receive credit cards, car loans, a mortgage, personal loans etc.

Am I responsible for the debts on my old report?
Yes, you are responsible for all debts on your old report and debts incurred with your Credit Profile Number (CPN). You must remember that while you are rebuilding your credit, you must use your new Credit Profile Number (CPN) wisely. If you have had troubled credit in the past dont repeat your mistakes.

Is this legal?
Yes. You can use the existing laws to your advantage for a change. Due to certain rights guaranteed by the 1974 US Privacy Act Title V, you have the right to keep your SS number private and not be denied service due to your refusal. The credit bureaus are not government agencies, so you do not have to give them your SS number.

What will my new FICO be?
Your credit profile will be blank. You will need to reestablish your credit, by applying for credit cards and other lines.

Is there another way to re-establish my credit?
Yes, we know that re-establishing credit can be a time consuming process. We can add fully paid off trade lines to boost your score. We can give you a new Credit Profile Number (CPN) with a 700+ score (excellent credit), to use as you see fit.
