Do credit repair agencies really work?

I am needing more help in removing charge-offs and collection accounts, as well as old, closed debts from my credit report in order to increase my score.

Do credit repair agencies really work? I’m looking into a place in Chicago, Revolution Credit Services.

Does anyone know anything about credit repair or this agency?

Do it yourself.

    They can help remove errors, but they cannot have factual derogatory items removed.

    i know about credit repair but not this agentcy but the thing is usually when u call the creditor yourself and schedule some kinda payment or even ask to pay one large sum but less than what u owe they would do it , i did it before , besides my debt with credit card company when i was really down with my business i also did a shortsale for my house and i asked them nicely to put in my credit report as paid in full satisfaction and they did , and it was about $300,000 off my chest , call them , sometime they do and sometime they wont but i know chse and captl one are hard to negotiate with

    my fiance has a bill that went into collections 5 yrs ago that he new nothing about and now its bitting us in the ass. We were 2 days away from closing on our house and this collection popped up. We cannot get the house unless we get the collections off. My fiance went and paid 600 dollars to some company that told him they’ll get it off for him. I was pist. There ain’t nothing they can do that i cant do myself for free. I hope im wrong so it can be removed but i doubt it. I went online and dispute it myself for FREE. JUST TODAY I WENT ON THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU AND THERE RATING SCORE WAS AN F. So i suggest you do ur hmwk and try to do everything yourself. They also say to call the Original company and negotiate it off or call the creditor and see if they’ll do it. I must of made 100 phone calls and im getting no where. They wont take it off. Hope you have better luck

    It works; you could attempt it yourself if you had a lot of savvy and a high tolerance for frustration. Some things are best left to the professionals. Good luck.

    Yes, there are some credit repair agencies that work. One in particular that I know can help fix your credit is Lexington Law. They are great.

    Not about that agency. But yes there are many free resources on internet where you can get good information about Credit Repair.
