I am needing more help in removing charge-offs and collection accounts, as well as old, closed debts from my credit report in order to increase my score.
Do credit repair agencies really work? I’m looking into a place in Chicago, Revolution Credit Services.
Does anyone know anything about credit repair or this agency?
Do it yourself.

I need to fix my credit score. My husband was very sick and we fell behind in payments. He died so I also lost his income. My credit report is a mess. I need to get some credit fast.
I am so very sorry for your loss. My family was in a similar situation. We found this website for a credit repair company. http://www.fixcreditwiz.com/contact.html They were very helpful and will give you your money back if you are not happy with the results. Our scores went up over 200 points. It took around 9 months but it was worth it. I highly recommend them to my friends and family. Good luck and again so sorry for your situation.

I need help with credit repair. I have tried it on my own but have not been able to do it. I have been told these guys are really good. Just wanted to know if there is anyone else who has used them. Thanks.
I strongly believe that no person should pay for help in fixing their credit. If you already have recent copies of your credit reports and the money to begin paying on your bills, all you need is to do some research on how to negotiate with your creditors.
I run a website that gives free advice on how to do this. You can find a link to it in my profile. You can also search the web for more information if you like.
Good luck!

My wife got very sick and we lost half of our income. My bills got behind so my credit score suffered. She is going to need a lot of medical equipment and I need good credit to buy it. I have heard of bad credit report repair firms, but don’t know of any.
I had great luck with these guys. My fico score went from 580 to 720 in 10 months. I had a great job and lost it so I could not keep up with my payments so my credit score suffered. There are a lot of people who say that this do not work, but for me with these guys it did. Good luck, I know how hard this can be on a family.

God.. my credit sucks. I cant get credit cards or apartments. I am in my early 20s.. but I want to fix this! I was completely reckless in college with my credit and I now I am starting to seee how important is was to mantain good credit
when people say they can fix credit.. is this true? or are you just giving your money away? any advice?
Crazy is right.
Many of these "credit repair" companies do nothing more then what you can do yourself.
You can fix MOST of your credit problems if you just spend some time educating yourself. The process is not that difficult.
1) Get a copy of your credit report. You can’t get out of debt without a roadmap.
2) Work on getting items removed from your report. Dispute them, look for any minor errors on your reports (you will find lots of them).
3) Demand validation of all your debt.
4) Contact your creditors and offer to pay, but only if they agree IN WRITING to delete the information from your report. Note that paying a debt does NOT get negative information removed, and your credit will still suck.
5) Understand that there is no "magic bullet" in fixing your credit. It’s going to take several months, lots of care record keeping, and some negotiating skills.
Visit the following links and read up.

The ftc site has lots of free consumer publications on how to get out of debt, and explains the Fair Debt Collections Act.
If you are still stuck, locate a non-profit credit counseling agency in your area. They usually give you an hour free consultation. After looking over your finances they can generally be of help.

Nearly a year ago I paid someone to repair my credit. She is licensed. I have a written contract. She has done nothing to help my credit and will not respond to email or telephone inquiries. How can I report her to state licensing agencies (Texas) and the credit bureaus?
Many of these companies do not offer guarantees on their services as its almost impossible to guarantee that they will improve someone’s credit. Unfortunately paying someone for a service is taking a chance. You pay your barber for a haircut in hopes that he/she will provide you with a nice looking hair cut. You pay a lawn care service in hopes that they will improve your lawn care or take care of your lawn better than yourself. Unfortunately all service companies do not always provide the type of service you are looking for. If you can prove that the credit repair company did little to nothing to improve your credit you may have a case, but if they can show documented proof that they indeed did do what they were supposed to and it just simply did not help to improve your credit, you will have a tough time.
Also, a good resource is…
