Is there any way to start a credit repair business?
A credit repair business just charges people money they don’t have to do things they can and should do themselves for free.
If you are in the US, The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has excellent resources on this subject. Go to http://www.ftc.gov/credit

i live in harlow and i really want to sell my property fast…the property does need repair but i have out it up for a low price?
You will probably need a cash buyer if the property is in disrepair. You will need to discount the price deeply to sell quick.

Hey CJ– well good on you for attempting to clean up your report (some folks never bother yanno) Anway you’ll need pen, paper and about 1-2 months to get things moving in your favor. Here’s a few tipe and good luck!
1. Order your credit reports from the 3 bureaus
www.equifax.com
www.experian.com
www.transunion.com
If you’re ordering for the first time, get your score (for a fee) from Equifax as their scoring matters most.
2. Make copies of your report and put the originals in a binder. On the photocopied reports use a highlighter and check for any incorrect, outdate, false, etc…info
3. Download a dispute letter(s) from the credit bureaus website and list anything that is wrong. Mail them to their office(s). They have 30 days to reply.
4. If they will not remove something that is not yours or too old (> 7 years) as them for a debt validation. This may take an additional 30 days.
5. Once the ‘baddies’ come off, take care not to let any of your other accounts fall into that predicament.
6. If you haven’t already make sure your existing accounts are current and paid on time ALWAYS.
7. Get a secured credit card with www.capitalone.com or www.mastercard.com for like $500-1000 or more if you can and use it sparingly. Charge like $50 on the card each month and pay it in FULL and on TIME. Make sure you do this for a minimum of 6 months so that you estabish a positive repayment history.
8. Problem with just letting them (collections) ‘fall off’ is that they may never. You may get sued before that…that’s where you suddenly get a summons to appear in court and a judgment for collection against you.
For collection items…pay them but get a ‘pay for delete’ from the collection agency in WRITING…they’ll delete it after you pay and it will help your credit score

I find it intresting that if our idenity is "stolen" we have to pay thousands of dollars to fix it. Then we have to wait for 3 companys, that had noone to enforce them, come up with a number that defines our lives. Now, WE have to pay and are responsible for the accuracy of the credit score number we have no control over? Does anyone else find this disturbing?
who pays the data reporting companies?
The credit reporting agencies do simply that – report. They don’t "ruin" people’s credit – the people themselves, those who stole their identity, or creditors do that.

I am interested in finding a credit repair company that has proven to have a very positive impact on your credit score. I know that the best way is to do it yourself so I would not like to hear responses from people who have no actual company in mind. Thank you.
I tried on my own and got 3 things off. Then signed up with Lexington Law for a small monthly fee and they got another 3 things off. I only used them for 3 months because I was tired of paying them. It was a mistake I should have at least stayed 6 months. I’m not sure what they do differently because what they got off, I’d already tried and failed.
Also, a good resource is…

All the best to you.

my bureau is asking me for my contact number, im not sure if its my phone # or something else.
they have already asked for my phone numbers and i gave it to them already.
thanks!
They’re asking for a number at which they can reach you easily. So yes, they’re asking for your phone number again, just in different words.

I am about to graduate from college and I would really like to improve my horrible credit score (541), all of which come from charged off credit cards when I first started college
A friend of mine found this guy who she says repaired her credit for about $500 by disputing negative items on her report and getting them removed, which made it alot easier for her to get a new car, and soon she will by buying a house. Should I go to this guy?? Does that stuff really work?? I would like to do it myself, but I wouldn’t even know where to start and I would not have the time, especially with work and school… Most of the items on my report are 2-3 years old… I need advice!! Please help me improve from a 541…
you can do the sdame thing yourself.all it will cost you will be cost of return receipt registered mail.and it dont neccessarily raise your score.go to www.annualcreditreport.com,get copies of your credit reports and it also tells how to dispute items on there.

I have the worst credit in the world. I want to fix it but don’t know how to get started. Any ideas?
You do not fix bad credit, you re-establish good credit.
Start with 2 credit cards and charge everyday things be careful never to exceed 30% of your credit limit and pay in full before the due date.
This should raise your score at least 100 points over a 24 month period.
Then you can start on your installment credit with a car, furniture or personal loan.
